Grandma Debbie's Annual Easter Tea 2010

I've been wanting to do a post about my mother-in-law for quite some time. She has been dealing with a cancer called multiple myloma. I will write about it soon. For now I'll just mention that she had a stem cell transplant in January. I didn't think we'd have our "Annual Easter Tea" this year, but Debbie insisted. She had been feeling very well. Regrettably, just shortly after the party started, she became really sick and had to spend the rest of the day in bed. I felt really bad. But the girls all had a wonderful time. I'm posting a lot of photos so that Debbie can enjoy the fruits of her labors through these.

SC and Deedle looked darling in their green dresses. SC enjoyed showing off her new braces. We played Easter Bingo, ate good food, made flower-hair-clips. The Easter Egg Hunt was, of course, the highlight of the afternoon. SC's lifelong friend, Olivia, came to the party. Her younger sister, Marley, came as well. I adore these girls and am so glad they are our friends! There was only one little boy who was allowed to come to the party. He got tired pretty early on and didn't have quite as good of a time as everybody else. But he and I are pretty inseparable these days, so we made due.
Debbie, thanks for all you do to make things so special for all of us! We love you!

Those dresses are the darlingest!! And, Mike, who was looking over my shoulder, just said that he didn't think darlingest was technically a word. Boo on him.

wow, you keep those little blondies well-groomed indeed. Love the hair in the twist, I've been trying to wear my hair that way too lately...

I am so sad for Debbie right now. I had no idea she was sick. I will keep her in my prayers. It looks like you guys had a wonderful time, and I love that idea of an "Easter tea." Sounds perfect to me. That was so sweet of her to organize it, reguardless of how she felt. Isn't it nice to be loved? Happy spring to you guys!

p.s. Your kids are all so darling, but how did Finn's first year fly by so fast? Seriously. Happy birthday to him!!

p.p.s. I think everyone's house has dust. At least that's what I tell myself when I'm feeling inept at being a good housekeeper. One day our homes will be spotless and quiet, and we will be missing these dirty, crazy, noisy, days. I'm glad you are so happy right now, cause these are happy times! Wow, I am a rambler!! Sorry.
