How'd it get to be Friday?

I'm not sure how it got to be Friday all of the sudden. I hurt my hip yesterday playing soccer and the lame thing is that I wasn't even playing a mean game (ie. the game Meg always remembers where a girl hit me so hard that a fell but did a very nice roll out of it, recovering quickly with only a collapsed uterus), it was just a nice casual practice. Apparently a tendon on the outside of my right hip went the wrong way over or under a muscle or something. Anywho...I was really sick of being in bed so I wrapped several ace bandages around my hips, took 1600mg of Ibuprofen and hopped down the stairs to see what I've been missing out on.

I got "tagged" for this little book thing. At first I thought, "Well, this is kind of meaningless and strange." But then I thought, "No, I actually think it is kind of fun to see what books my friends have lying close by." Each one I've read from others that have done this have given me just a little more of a glimpse into their every day lives and I like that. So, I have been "tagged-you're-it" by Jami and Zhateal. Here are the rules:

1- Get the nearest Book to you, or one your reading that contains over 123 pages.
2- Go to the 123 page.
3- Find the 5th sentence.
4- Post the 5th sentence.
5-Tag five people.

I only have two books sitting on my desk right now. First, I have "The Truth About Angels" by Elaine Cannon. Regrettably page 123 is the index. Second, I have Langenscheidt's Standard Dictionary, Spanish-English, English Spanish. For those of you that don't know, I served a Spanish speaking mission, majored in it in college, worked in downtown Ogden with Hispanics for several years, then ran the Guatemala adoption program for WIAA for 6 years. I am also a Spanish interpreter and work one afternoon per week doing that for a local court. So, I keep this hefty dictionary handy. I just looked it up, following the rules, and I just learned a totally cool, new word on the 5th sentence on page 123:
"cerbatana f peashooter; blowgun; ear trumpet; sl. mouthpiece; spokesperson." Sweet! Next time I see a Spanish speaker I am going to suddenly grab my neck and cry, "Ay! Que paso??? Me siento como alquien me tiro con algo de una cerbatana." ("Hey! What happened? I feel like somebody just shot me with something from a blowgun.") Any other suggestions on how I could incorporate this word? You know, if you don't use it, you'll lose it. And who would want to forget this?

Ok, now I must tag the following individuals. If you think this is stupid then fine, just don't do it. But it was kind of fun. So, Jennifer, Heather, Sarah, Kathy, and Jessica, you're it!
