2am Voices

I'll tell you that I'm glad these voices aren't Venus and Tarsus. My sisters will remember them but if any of the rest of you are interested in how truly insane I am, I can share that story another day. Tonight the voices are simply the food angel and devil that argue back and forth at this hour recently.

A: Just go to sleep, girl. You don't want to eat anything at this hour.
D: Yes you do. What is there to eat? Hm...lots of yummy things on hand right now. Ice cream in the freezer, left over valentine treats from the girls' dance classes today. How about a hostess Dingdong and a cup of milk? Yumm...
A: You do not want to do that. You will only wake up feeling more ill in the morning. Just take a few Tums for your heartburn and lay down.
D: Pshaw! You are pregnant. You are hungry. Your baby is hungry. Who cares about breaking a few eating rules. If you want a snack have a snack. How about graham crackers and milk? mmm.
A: The problem is that if you start up this habit it is just going to get harder to resist next time. And you know how you start packing on the pounds in this last trimester if you aren't careful. You know you will regret it if you eat something right now.
D: Give me a break. You had dinner like 7 hours ago. Baby is hungry. You are hungry. Eat something! At least a bowl of cereal. What's so bad about that.
A: If you eat cereal tonight then you know tomorrow at this same time your tummy is going to start growling and you're going to eat and then just sleep with all those calories.
D: You are soooo lame. You don't let a girl have any fun at all.
A: Its not about that. You have more fun when you are happy because you are the one in control of yourself and not a slave to a beasty appetite.
D: Whatever. How about some yogurt? And maybe a dingdong. Don't forget you have a couple of those leftover.

Any of the rest of you go through this crazy kind of thought process at 2am? Just a little pregnancy stuff going on here.

I don't have that struggle in the night - thank goodness. But when I was pregnant I always had to have a snack in the night. I'd get up to go to the bathroom and the next thing I knew I was in the kitchen eating graham crackers on my way back to bed. Thankfully I sleep well now so now thoughts of snacking. Wow! That is something for me to be proud of. If only I could avoid those thoughs the rest of my waking hours.

(How exciting for the remodel. Can't wait to see pictures.)

So, you left us hanging. Who won? My devil is so much louder. I need to toughen up my angel, she's kinda whimpy.

Those pics are awesome, and D would TOTALLY win because she said "Pshaw" -- which in my book makes any other argument completely void. No, I don't have those conversations because I have completely suffocated Angel food, and it is way easier to only listen to Devil food. Good post. Lame that you are semi-internetlese!

OH, well here's the sad thing. I'm not even pregnant and I have those conversations with myself every night around 11:00 p.m.!!!

I hate that!! Graham crackers and milk are my favorite midnight snack! Especially with a little frosting sandwhiched in the middle. MMMMmmmm........I'm hungry right now!! I hate the ravenous appetite that I have. But I will say, when you are pregnant, just listen to your body. That last trimester the baby is really packing on the poundage, so they need a little extra in the calorie department. And so do you. Just choose something on the healthier side, and your worries are over!! Yogurt is awesome! Fruit is also a tasty treat. Rich chocolaty Ovaltine in some milk is another good snack. Oh, I could talk for hours about food! But I'll stop now. :)

I have that conversation on a daily basis. The devil usually wins hence the gym visits.

I am proud of you because you have an angel in the conversation. I'm just have two devils, one says "I'm hungry." then the other says "Let go make a P.B.&J." The only thing that can stop me is laziness. I should fallow your example.
By the way, I think it's time to hang out. I'll be gone for a week, but I will call you when we get back. I hope you are feeling well.

As long as that conversation doesn't turn into something much more sinister like:

D-Go slash your drug user neighbor's tires...
A-No thanks Shan, you don't have the energy nor the know how of where to slash...
D-Fine, then just get one of those dried up Christmas trees that you see along the road this time of year and light it on your neighbors yard...
A-That sounds fun but you need your friend Jodi's old red truck to transport it and she lives in Logan so...
D-Do it, do it, do it...
A-Stop it AAAAH.

I know that you would be tempted. The Christmas tree especially dazzles on these long winter's nights.

Keep those ladies in check, you.

When are we going to dinner?

Apparently that voice can travel to other locations...Those two live in my head 24 hours a day. My only relief is when I am pregnant then I hear different voices...they say
Voice 1-You have to eat it is good for your baby.
2-You ate 2 days ago no need to make yourself go on a throwing up jag right now...Ahhh the voices...Heather

When you're pregnant with twins, you must have two angels :) telling you to eat; because when I was pregnant with my twins, I gained 100 lbs! It paid off in that they were both great babies!
