Other Things

I told Chanch that I didn't want a present for Christmas because there wasn't anything I wanted and we didn't have the money and because, you know, I'm just that self-sacrificing (ha). Then my ever-bargain-shopping-brother-in-law found this for a SWEET deal and so I made Chancho buy it for me. I've wanted a nice camera for oh so long my life and now I have one! Yippee! I don't really know how to use it yet. Luckily my very talented sister, Amy, is going to take me along on some photo shoots with her one of these days and I'll start figuring it out.

Of course I couldn't wait to try it out, so I took a few shots of the kids with the tree. Turns out I can get some decent shots just pretty much by pointing and shooting. I took some shots of my favorite Nativities (the only thing that I collect). I love Nativities. My heart nearly bursts with joy when I think of people all over the world, from all different cultures, praising our Lord and Savior and celebrating His birth.

USA
Kenya
Israel

Hawaii

Guatemala

Mexico

Austria And, can you guess where? HAITI And then I took 9,000 shots of Finn. He is changing so fast that I can't bear to think of forgetting any one of these faces he makes.

Is that the same camera as Megs? Hmmm. As you may recall, I broke mine at the Christmas eve party . . . perhaps I need to get that one.

And, Finn Finn's face is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

wow great shots of finn...especially the one with the teeth. love the Haiitian Nativity. Been thinking so much about Haiti lately but not acting upon it, glad you are and people are. Glad the prayers of the world and the conciousness are bringing blessings to Haiti among all the destruction and suffering. i guess nothing is permanent but also whoa you know when you have nothing and that is taken away wow the amazing human spirit and will to survive and thrive. when i read nienie I think I would have chosen to go and not stay on earth cuz i am a wuss...and also if i was buried under rubble i think i woulda said sweet time to go home and just closed my eyes and drifted away...i guess i am much more ethereal and much less earthy to want to endure suffering...where did all this come from? not sure but sorry you had to be the victim jk.

Hooray for good things in life--like nice cameras, and Nativities from people all over the world who worship the Savior, and healthy kids, and a beautiful baby Finn! I totally know what you mean about that "bursting with joy" feeling when you think of people all over the world celebrating Jesus. You know on the movie Armageddon, where it keeps showing people all over the world, first panicking at the news of the meteor that's coming to destroy them, and then rejocing because they've been saved, and there's all this inspirational music playing? That's what I picture whenever I read that scripture, "Every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess..." I love to think of that time to come! Also, with all your Christmas music that you love, do you have "Betelehemu"? It's a Nigerian Christmas carol, and I just love it!

Oh Shann, for the last two positive posts to end with a picture of a cat... that is sad. Why? Oh Why?

I told P just last night that if we were in a situation without food, I would eat her cat with BBQ sauce so I guess they are good for something!

Yo, I just looked at this post again to see if your camera was indeed the same as megs (She told me she had a "rebel" just yesterday). Anywho, I need a new one but don't know what to get but would like a good one. Sometime when you plan to have Amy show you what your camera can do, will you call me to come too so I can decide if I want to have your same camera once I see what it does?? It's settled then. Perfect. I'll wait for your call.
