Changes

"There is nothing wrong with change--if its in the right direction,"  Winston Churchill.

I have not posted for over a month now because we've got some really big changes going on and I go to bed every night feeling exhausted and wake up every morning with a pit in my stomach thinking about everything that needs to be done.

On April Fool's Day my little sister, Megan, was trying to think of something funny to do on my facebook so she posted: Good luck on your move to Dallas!  Of course that raised a few eyebrows because we had not told anybody about any move.  No worries, we told everybody, its just an April Fool's joke.  But in actuality, Chancho and I had our eyebrows raised in surprise because we had been talking about possibly making a change and had begun to pray about the idea of moving...to Dallas.

Well, the decision has been made.  Our house has been on the market for two weeks now (only showed it once so far though).  We have feverishly been cleaning and packing and storing.  We plan to move into my parent's basement by the end of the week so that we can have the house empty and clean so that when we have to show it, the house is uncluttered and I don't have to panic about having it spotless.  Our realtor says he can sell an empty house much easier than a full one.  I hope that is true.  Anyway, our PLAN is to sell the house quickly (although we're not sure how to plan that), live with my parents until about January or so, and then we will move to Dallas.

Why?  You may ask.  We love our neighborhood and our ward and our friends and the mountains and living so close to so much family and we have a nice home and Chancho has a good job.  So, why?  I'm too tired to try to answer.  And the truth is, there isn't a logical answer.  The only answer that I can give is one that you really can't argue with.  We have actually felt drawn to Dallas for over three years.  Recently the feelings became very strong.  We fasted and prayed and we believe that Dallas is where God wants us to go.  We believe it is right.  So, change is happening and much more change is coming for our little family.

I am so sad!!!! What am I going to do without you guys next door? I understand your move though, that is why we are in Utah. Everything happens for a reason and has a purpose. I wish you all the best and please let me know what I can do to help you!

I am so happy for you! If this were a Facebook post I would hit the "SERIOUSLY TRIPLE DOG LIKE" button! And, I hear you on the "explaining" part. Everyone wants to know why....sometimes there is no answer to why, only to what! And, the answer to what has yet to be written! Good luck! (Dallas isn't going to know what hit them come January or there abouts ... hee hee, right? wink wink)

And all I can sing is "time may change me, but I can't change time . . . ch ch ch changes" and so forth. Anywho, even though I kind of hate that you are going, I can't deny that I feel all happy and excited for you guys and for what all lies ahead in Dallas. What if you never come back? What if Dallas is your destiny. Weird. I kind of wish it was us off on an adventure again . . . or maybe us with you off on an adventure. Loves, Nancy.

P.S. What if reading this was the first Tia knew of it? Think how she would have screamed when she read it.

When people say why move, I always wonder why not? It's so good for kids to grow up understanding that there is a place for them anywhere, that this world is for everyone, as long as we take a little time to understand our new surroundings!

Good idea moving out first - for our recent move, we only had a rented flat, but all the same, I took a hotel room for the last three days because children (even teenagers!) have a way of unpacking for you as you pack!

wow. that is a big change! i totally understand you on the why - there are just things that feel right and you have to go with that. good things will follow. i wish you and your beautiful little family all the best as you prepare and get ready to go. every time there is a big change in my life i remember, as a teen, finding this sign and bringing it home (when my own family was about to experience some serious change), and sticking it on the fridge: change is good. doesn't mean it's easy, but if it's right, it is good... :) ah. happy and excited for you, and i can't wait to hear what comes next. :)

My sister in law just moved to the Dallas area (Keller) for her husbands job. You should contact her she might be able to help you prepare or maybe make the transition easier. The weather itself has been quite an adjustment, she seems to have found some fun things to entertain her young children (boy-8 girl-5 and girl-3) though. Let me know if you are interested.

I'm so excited for you guys! How fun! That surely is a big change! I hope everything goes well and you are able to sell your home quickly. I've only been to Texas once to visit Aaron and Allison, but it seemed like an amazing place! Also my sister in law served her mission there and absolutely fell in love with Texas. We'll have to come and visit!! Good luck with everything!
