This street has the same name as our subdivision. It is what drew me here and soothed me last summer when we broke all kinds of records for number of days over 100 degrees. I feel happy every time I drive on this street.
Sisters are asking for photos. Here is the first before and after. I don't know that it looks much different in the photo, but this exterior change of painting all of the trim (including siding, garage, dormers, all trim, front door, and shutters) was my one big wish on my list before moving in. When the previous owner bought the house to flip it, he did some things really well (the wood floors downstairs are beautiful, the carpet is really high quality and soft, the counters and appliances are so nice). He also did somethings not well--obviously just cutting corners to get it to look decent and sell but not caring enough to spend the money to do it right. He had the house painted but the paint was really a yellowish color (doesn't look like that so much in the photos). They'd painted right over rotted boards, had oversprayed onto the bricks, and much of it, especially on the shutters, was already chipping off. I'm very happy we decided to have this done.

Oh, I have both loved these last two posts and felt a little saddish about them because I love getting these glimpses into your world and it does make me very much want to come and run on your trail and see all this lovliness, but it also makes me feel a little lonesome for you to have and be settling into this new world so very very far away from my own. Only, think of the old days (like 15 yrs ago) when we could have only talked once in awhile by calling long distance and we would only know about things from going to mom and dad's and reading your occasional letters -- once in awhile with a few pictures. So, I guess I get to be a lot more connected to your world than I might have been. Sigh. I do hope someone figures out teleporting soon.
Oh, and the front of your house with the brick and your black door and shutters is so classy and gorgeous.
Such a gorgeous house!!
