- This is not a beauty parlor or a tattoo parlor. It is Perla's parlor. Why a parlor? I have always wanted to have a parlor. Webster's says a parlor is, "a room set aside for entertaining, a small semi-private sitting room. I heard that the word "parlor" comes from the French word, "parler" or "to speak". One website said that, "The parlor was always the best room." I don't really know what that means specifically but if it was written it must be true. So, this will be my best room for chatting or reading and entertaining guests. In the evenings, after the kids are down I can finally do as so many of my most beloved fictional (and non-) characters have done in the past...I shall retire to the parlor. And you can trust that unlike most parlors that are still in existence today, this parlor is not haunted.

I am so happy seeing these!! Look at him sucking on his binky!! Can't they just let him try and nurse now?? Or will it exhaust him too much? What a trooper. He will come home so soon!!!! Does he ever cry or fuss in there? Look at how alert he is when he shouldn't even be born yet!!
Miles - it IS a movie star name! But I thought you were going to call him Finn?
Yes, I wonder why they won't let him give you a go! He seems to have a good little suction going on!
the sucking is awesome, huh? some babies don't even have a sucking reflex at this age. and, actually, today they told me he could just do what he wants so i got there this morning before they started his feeding and he did latch on for a minute or so. i was so happy! he was then completely exhausted but i am so encouraged to think that it may not be too long before he will actually get nourishment directly from me and not the feeding tube. that is what he needs to be able to do before he can come home. so...i will keep trying and i think he will do it soon.
and Finn, well, i love it, jason does not. his name is Miles Phineas and Finn is his blog-code name and i think it will be a cute nickname, too, but we'll see if it catches on or not. but i find myself just calling him miles right now.
O that little man is so beautiful. I am seriously so in love with him. I loved just watching him. more video please. Even if you email it. I could just sit and watch that little angel all day. Please whisper in his ear that his aunt Megan loves him most!
