Finn is now six months old. It is pretty hard for me to believe. He has just thrived so amazingly. What a good little soldier boy!!! At his well-child checkup with his uncle John he weighed in at 16 pounds 10 ounces. He is 26 cm. tall. He is now Capt. Average in size, which is pretty darned amazing!!! (If any of you are just tuning in to my blog, Finn only weighed 3#8oz at birth) I love his chubby cheeks. He still continues to have such a sweet and mild demeanor. He is still definitely a "giver". The other day we were grocery shopping and he was in his carseat in the cart. It was getting late and he was tired and hungry. In the checkout line I heard a woman behind me whisper to her partner, "Watch this. Watch what this baby will do when I smile at him." She gave Finn a big smile and he flapped his arms and smiled back. Both the women giggled. Finn just can't stop himself. If somebody smiles at him he just must give back to them something for their efforts.
In other big baby news, Finn cut his first two teeth (middle, bottom) this past week. Also, his wrists and ankles recently disappeared.
Finn is getting quite good at using his hands. He loves baby toys more than any of my children have. They totally fascinate him and he concentrates so hard on reaching for them and shaking them or pulling them to his mouth. He sets his mouth in a tiny little "o" and narrows his eyebrows and sometimes quivers a little in anticipation and concentration. I love watching him.
Another thing I love is when I come in to get him out of bed after a nap or in the morning. His mouth is in a big permanent O smile and his eyebrows are raised as high as they can go as if seeing me is the most joyful thing he could ever have imagined. He makes me feel like I am the best thing in the entire world. I love my baby. I don't know if I ever mentioned that on this blog yet or not, but I am really smitten with him. :)

HE is so dang cute! I love that his wrists and ankles disappeared -- that is a great milestone for any baby (much less a preemie) to reach! He is quite a giving little smiler. He would smile at me when I looked at him clear back in swimming lessons -- and that was like 3 months ago!! If anyone looks at Jesse he usually just begins to sob -- that is almost as sweet.
Has it really been six months since little Miles was born? He is so beautiful and sweet. I am so happy that you are so in love with your amazing little son. What a cutie pie. :) ~Mare

He is so cute! He always looks like this little man :)
I can't believe he six months already!
Smitten is the best word to use with a baby. He is so dang cute! I love that you mentioned his wrists and ankles dissappeared lately. My son had the rubber band around his wrists until kindergarten. LOVE THAT!
I'm sending you an email with a tree! Have a great weekend!
Oops, I meant to say my son had a rubber band "LOOK" around this wrists and ankles until kindergarten.
That was the cutest video. WHat a huge primie you have! I loved being able to hold him and smell him, because you always keep your babies smelling so good and clean. TYou are such a good mom!
