Today I was cleaning out a desk and found a box full of photos. Back in the day before digital cameras, I would always get double-prints and often the extras ended up in this box. Most of these photos happened to be of String Cheese, since we got a digital shortly after Deedle came along.
I felt an overwhelming amount of joy and gratitude as I ran across some photos of String Cheese as an infant or toddler with some really great friends. I just sat in awe for a minute and thought, "That is really a miracle that these kids are still such good friends to her!" (Maybe it is not a miracle that they still know each other because some of them are cousins and others are children of my friends, but I think it is a miracle that they are growing up to like each other so much!)
SC is nearing her 7th birthday. There are so many things I want for her. Good friends is something that I pray for often, especially this year as she spends so many hours away from me for the first time and is so much more influenced by other children now. She has a lot of good friends that are new, but the joy I felt came from realizing how many friends she has that are OLD. I realize that is all relative when you are dealing with a first grader.
Anyway, I found these photos and then went through some albums to find a few more. Every one of these children is somebody that SC loves, talks about, and has had the chance to hang out with at least in the last couple of months, if not the last couple of days.
So, do you know who any of these buddies are with my little Princess String Cheese?

Note to Princess String Cheese: No matter what happens in the future with your other buddies, these next two are there for you forever and ever and ever.

ah. such great pictures :)
I really gotta get me a scanner.
Cute pictures. I remember that day we put the girls in that swing together, it seems like yesterday. I know they will be friends their whole life. In 70 years they will be having lunch together talking about the good old days.
Those are such sweet pictures. I told my boys that some of the best friends they will ever have are their brothers. That is a happy post.:)
That boy in the jacket is going to be a keeper one day...SC better keep him on her radar...she already notices him a bit by the way she swings her Hanna Montana pack around!
I meant the red jacket...
Ohh, what fun pics. I am so pleased at how dang well our girls get along. What the? Not that they shouldn't, but it just seems like all of the sudden they click so perfectly. I am even surprised by how well ALL the girls seem to get along. On Sunday it just seemed like, Daisy, Grace, Addie, Maddie, Charlie, Kate, Ellie, just took off all happily together. What lucky girls.
she was one of those beautiful babies. Very cute!!
What a beautiful little girl. It's so fun to see baby pictures of people you didn't know as babies. It was also fun to see a picture of you with your beautiful brown hair. I never saw you that way but I KNOW I will in the future. Thanks for inspiring me once again with your beautiful pictures of the haitian children. You can see the light of heaven in their eyes. What a blessing for you to have each other.
It's always so much fun to go through old photos. You have some great ones. I too am worried about the friends my six year old picks up now in school all day. I think I'm a little disappointed that I am no longer the friend he spends most of the day with.
That was such a dear post! I love al those photos. Connor and SC brought me back. Love you, Meg
