Since we arrived in Texas, we have had beautiful weather! Some days have been rather chilly, but by 8am, there has been bright sunshine and blue skies which have been a huge boost to my emotional well-being and make it nearly impossible for me to feel gloomy. Yesterday, however, we woke up to a down pour of rain. As we were sitting in church, just about to begin the closing hymn to our Sacrament Meeting, an excited murmur began to spread across the chapel. Somebody had gone in or come out one of the doors and we glimpsed snow falling outside! The excitement could hardly be contained during the song and prayer, and was absolutely NOT contained once the kids began to pour out of the chapel and into the hall for their classes. It usually does snow a couple of times each year here, but its typically just a "flurry" and doesn't stick. This one came down long and hard and was cold enough to stay and build up for awhile. In fact this morning it is still cold enough that the ground and rooftops are still white.
This is the view of our backyard, which now has a complete covering of snow, rather than these brown patches. Not the prettiest view, but I want to document our new little home through my posts.
There is not a lot about the aesthetics of this neighborhood that I particularly love, but I do like the street lights! This was the view I enjoyed out the front window as I relaxed on our couch last night.
