Another Welcome

I welcome you again, to my parlor. It has been remodeled, thanks to Ashley Hunt. It looks much more like how I always pictured my parlor to be. I hope you feel more comfortable here now for our visiting. I know I do.

I wanted to comment on the quote from MLK that I have up there. I think the reverse of his statement is also true. When we are no longer silent about things that matter, our lives begin to come alive. This applies to my life in so many ways. It applies to the reason why I have this parlor and why, I think, so many of my sisters and friends are blogging. When we write about what matters to us, we feel more alive. We see more of who we are. My parents have always emphasized the importance of journaling for many reasons. This is certainly one of them.

I also saw this happen just as I wrote about the family in Haiti. I am always passionate about Haiti but sometimes the fire is just some smoldering embers. After writing that, several things have happened and I feel I have received some real inspiration and direction as to what I need to do.

I do matter. What I say matters. As I refuse to be silent on them and even just express myself on my jib (even if I'm the only one to read it), I am beginning to live more. It's a very nice feeling.

Thanks for coming by.

I loved your welcome. I DO feel welcome when I drop by too. It's great to see the layers coming off as you said in your comments to my most recent post. It's awesome to have something that you're so passionate about and that brings even more meaning to your life. I'm so proud of what you have accomplished thus far! Keep it up...you are changing the world and making a difference!

Well, you have made me realize that I need to journal. I used to do it all the time. It seems like there is always something better to do. But since I wish my family had all written in one I should start. So, I will begin actually writing what I think and what I'm passionate about instead of just posting pictures. Thank you for always inspiring me. There are so many reasons I look up to you.

yes yes I need more passion -- I will discover it eventually, just wait for the post. It's not the chickens, or the ants, but it will come.

Thanks for the comment. I found your site from the LargeFamilyMama site. She's a longtime friend and I've watched her family grow and grow and grow!
I love your site design - very well done.
I struggle with putting too much emotion into my posts. I'll take your challenge and be a little more brave!

Hey friend,

I love the new look of your blog. It is perfect.

Also wanted to drop by to let you know that we are considering the name "Isson" for our second child. (Did you know we were adopting again - from Texas? I wish we were adopting from HAiti again, but am not sure if we could stomach it in the current climate. Some of our friends adoptions are now taking 2 years. But Halis is still heading to Haiti in April to check out a new orphanage... in hopes of making new contacts just in case :)

Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what you know about Isson's name. (Am I even spelling it right?) We were very taken by him as a person, and would like to honor our son with his name. We haven't made it official yet, but I wanted you to know :)

Love ya,
Jodi
