Autumn

I can't say that autumn is my favorite season. I could probably go into the details of why that is, but I shan't. Of course autumn is a beautiful time with the changing leaves and all. But the best thing about autumn is that Christmas is on the way. I love Christmas oh so very much. And because Thanksgiving is happening so late this year (at least it seems to me), I am rebelling and am starting my Christmas-ing now. Look at me, I even changed my blog background!

Before I get too much into Christmas, though, I better share some of these photos from our leaf raking (not so much) last Saturday. I was feeling well and the sun was shining ever so nicely. Quick pregnancy tangent ~ I have discovered that when I can get out of bed at my leisure, I have felt well pretty much all the live long day. With my first pregnancy and all of the sickness I remember many older women tell me, good naturedly, "I just had to get up and going and force myself out or I'd be sick all day." Nay! Pretty much the only really good days I've had have been when I stayed in my bed until I felt like getting out. Regrettably that can ever only happen on Saturday or Sunday (and with babies it was never so I'm not complaining, I'm just saying...) The kids still wake me constantly to fix a broken transformer or zip up a pair of pants or whatever the request, but they are big enough that usually their needs don't force me out of bed (and they also know not to turn on the light with their requests and to shut my door when they go back out). So, I love my weekends now more than ever.

Back to Autumn. It had been very rainy and gloomy for quite some time, but Saturday was brilliant so the kids and I took advantage to clean up some leaves. There was a little bit of raking and then lots of...
...leaf fights...
...requests for mom to bury kids in the piles so that they could jump out and leaf fight some more......leaf angels......and plenty of all around happy cuteness!

awesome shots! you really do have the most beautiful kids! i can't wait until our baby trees grow and we have more than 3 leaves to play in! :) ah... maybe my boys will just have to head to your house next fall to get the real effect. :)

i'm sorry you've been sick ... i hope it gets better soon.

i love the new blog look -- but i'm a total sucker for christmas too. i LOVE it and have been listening to chrismtas music for weeks -- without the hubby knowing of course because he's all about "one holiday at a time" :) what's that all about?! but it's going to be here before i know it so we might as well enjoy it early, right?! :)

I love the fall pictures. I miss those cute faces. I also love the music. Christmas music reminds me of my childhood, my mom would play it all year if we would let her.

I hope you are feeling better.

And, you didn't even mention how much joy it brings to all of us, your loved ones, when you present us with your annual fruit cakes (which I'm sure you have already begun preparing)!

Super cute little pics, and yah, the weather has been lovely hasn't it.

Wanna run the Turkey Trot too??? It'll be fun because my running pace is probably a walking pace now. Oh, but I can't, I'm probably in labor right now!!

SO AWESOME! COOL PICTURES I love em. They really capture the moment. I am glad you are able to do what you need to do to keep strength up. I would like to know why you don't like autumn. You piqued my curiosity. I like the beginning of it but not the end.
Well take care of Sarah Jane or Sean John or whoever it is! wink wink

I had to hurry and turn down your Christmas music before my hubby heard. He would go crazy if he even thought that I was listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. He has a hard enough time with me asking him to get the lights and tree from the attic this week. I LOVE your fall pictures.

Only you can post fall pictures and play Christmas music and get away with it - you are just THAT cool. I'm with Jami's husband - one holiday at a time, but oh yeah, I'm the one with my Christmas lights already up. (But I don't turn them on yet!)

Cute kids pics. Very fun remembrances of a good time!

I LOVE leaf pics. Yours look like so much fun!!! The first one looks like poor Loumy was pelted with more leaves than he could handle :)

Hoping that you are feeling better.
Love you,
