Nancy asked me what Loumy's hair looked like after telling her that it took me six hours (in two separate sittings) to complete. So, here it is. I feel no need to apologize for bragging about my son. Hopefully when he is older and reads about my gushing here, he will remember more about how much I love him and less about the times that I lose my temper.
I think if anybody had ever told me that one day this beautiful boy would be mine, I couldn't have believed that I would be so blessed. He has such a tender heart. He has such a cool sense of style. Yes, I buy his clothing, but he usually dresses himself and ends up doing a great job. I mean, check out this outfit. He put it together himself, complete with his backpack worn the same way that Diego wears his. And he requested the hairstyle. He tries to come get in bed with me every night during the middle of the night to cuddle and is sometimes successful at getting by Molly. He can't pronounce his "r"s. He asks me this question EVERY SINGLE DAY, sometimes up to 15 times per day, "Mom, can I be your big brother?" My answer is always yes. Sometimes he then asks me to name him. Once that is done, he runs off to play. Sometimes I choose his name (most recently he was Uncle Rico for a few days). Sometimes he gives me choices ("Do you want me to be Derek, Bosco, or Steven?"). He loves sports. Anything to do with a ball is interesting to him and he wants to try it. He can crash on his bike three times during one ride and still get back on (thank goodness for helmets!). He gets along well with other children. He likes to make his sisters happy. He likes to tease his sisters, especially getting their goat by copying whatever they say. He always asks, "Can us...?" Instead of, "Can we...?" He loves to snuggle. He sits still for six hours to get his hair done. He learns things very quickly and is starting to write letters. He is in awe when he gets to be around older boys. He thinks his older cousins are super cool and always talks about them but then gets shy when he is around them so they think he might not like them (ie. big Andre and Beau). He likes to pretend that his shoes are roller blades. He prays every night and "thanks" Heavenly Father that my hair will grow back and that he will get two skateboards. I think of the whole family, his prayers are usually the most sincere and thought out. He thanks God for what has happened that day that made him happy and he always includes, "Thank you for my Mommy and my Daddy and my Sistuhs." I love this boy so much that sometimes I think my heart will explode.

Ohh that boy is freakin' awesome. Love the hair! I remembered that he had huge feet but forgot how big his hands were until I looked at his thumbs up pic. I'm glad he'll be able to palm a ball soon. He is for certain the coolest kid I've ever known.
That is one very good lookin' kid! You will have to teach me how to do that hair do when Zachary gets here.
He is sooo cute. This is one of those "stick in the file for crazy people who think you can't love your adopted kids as much as your homegrown kids". The file is growing leaps and bounds! Thanks for sharing about your sweetie...it seems so funny that I haven't met him, I prayed for him for so long it's like I know him already!
Your hard work paid off! Those are great - are you going to keep them going as his hair gets longer? It's a great look for summer - I am amazed at the time you spent on it! If I spent more than 30 seconds on Pixie's hair she claws my eyes out. He must LOVE LOVE you!
He does indeed seem like one cool kid! After reading yours and Nancy's blog now religiously for a week or so I can't help but wonder how it was that Loumy came into your life. I would love for you to write a blog and tell his story. If it is not something that is "bloggy world worthy" then sometime, when you have time, I would love for you to fill me in. So far I gather that you love Haiti and it's children....is he from Haiti then? And that you speak Spanish - did you serve a mission there? Any way, if you deem me non-crazy enough to know then email me through my blog profile. Although, for the record I have never been deemed non-crazy. Okay, maybe in high school - I was very level headed.
Again - very cool kid!
He really is the cutest thing ever, although I'm sure it's probably not "cool" for me to say that. Boys generally don't like it when you tell them how adorable they are.
I love it when kids can't say their "r"s.
He is so adorable that my eyes might explode! What a sweet sweet boy. I am so glad that you have each other. It's truly awesome. His hair is too cute. Nice job on it. I meant to tell you that tonight. Very cool kid indeed. I love him!
could he be any cuter?? and cooler?? :) he sounds like a great kid ... how lucky to have him in your family -- and how lucky he is to have you! :)
What a stud! I am so living the outfit! 6 hrs, are you kidding me? You really are a good mom.
I especially love that last picture of your little man, he has the cutest smile!
ahh I guess its worth the twelve hours but maybe later you can outsource jk
He is cool!! Look at those worn flip flops he looks like a iittle surfer dude.
Dunno why Nachos camments don't work on my blog I will redo my settings
Shan I had so much fun being with you and meeting Miss Molly. Also I don't think there is a better dressed child on earth then Andre.
RE: Vintage Baby Photo
i did give the PS to Pris to give to you a few weeks ago, so she has it. YOu will have to hound her when she gets back
Girl ... can that boy get any "cooler"? His hair is so cool, his personality is incredible, his tender heart is a joy, his humor is a riot. And I am so thankful that you all have found one another. You are an amazing family ... and I am incredibly blessed to learn more about you all as time goes on.
I 'ditto' you on the "exploding heart" reference. I feel the same way with my Isaac.
Love to you all,
Jodi
